Bethel Wins Heidelberg Spring Invite; Lakin Davis of St. Francis Earns Medalist Honors

Tiffin,  Ohio  – April 22, 2011 – The no. 5 ranked team in NAIA, Bethel College, claimed the team championship at the 2011 Heidelberg Spring Invitational. The two-day invitational was hosted by Heidelberg University at the Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio April 21-22.

Bethel had its top-four golfer’s finish in the top-six of the standings to pave the way for a 651 (325, 326). Taking home runner-up honors was St. Francis with a 672 (335, 337). Leading the way for St. Francis was medalist Lakin Davis. Davis opened with an 84, which was tied for 12th, but returned with a 75 during the rain on round two. In the end Davis fired a 159.

Rounding out the team scoring was Baldwin-Wallace College with a 720 (354, 366), Ohio Northern University with a 721 (358, 363), Adrian College at 741 (371, 370), Columbus State Community College with a 762 (375, 387) and Jackson Community College with a 1,048 (540, 508).

Heidelberg had three individuals compete. Leading the way was Tiffany Stark (Lancaster, Ohio / Lancaster) with a 191 (93, 98). Following closely was Heather Lentz (Sandusky, Ohio / Perkins) with a 192 (94, 98). Erika Danver (Jackson, Ohio / Jackson) was the final ’Berg golfer and she fired a 216 (113, 103).
