Heather Lentz Medals at Defiance

Defiance, Ohio – September 20, 2010 – Freshman Heather Lentz (Sandusky, Ohio / Perkins) earned medalist honors at the 2010 Defiance Fall Tournament to pace the Heidelberg University women’s golf team to a fourth place finish at the 2010 Defiance Fall Tournament. Defiance College hosted the event at the Kettering Country Club in Defiance, Ohio.

Lentz won a one-hole playoff over Mount St. Joseph College’s Alaina Hartman to earn her first medalist honors of her collegiate career. She opened up play firing a career-best 42 on the front nine and closed out with a 44 to finish with an 86.

As a team, Heidelberg finished with 425, which stood only behind Capital University (388), Mount St. Joseph (396) and Rochester College (419).

Backing Lentz was classmate Claire Meneer (Fairlawn, Ohio / Copley) in 14th place with a 101 (50, 51).

Sophomore Ali Sayre (Sylvania, Ohio / Sylvania Northview) fired a 59 on both the front and back nine to finish at 118 and in a tie for 31st.

Rounding out the Berg golfers was sophmore Brittany Greenbaum (Milford Center, Ohio / Fairbanks) with a 120 (58, 62) and sophomore Kayla Percy (Cincinnati, Ohio / Saint Ursula) with a 125 (64, 61).
