FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Heidelberg women’s soccer team has had a rough go against non conference opponents as they drop their second to last non conference matchup to the Franklin Grizzlies, 2-1.
The Student Princes took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when senior Beth Mattern netted her first goal of the 2013 season from a Hannah Gregoire pass.
However, the Grizzlies stuck back quickly with the equalizer in the 42nd. Franklin came out of the half and tallied the go-ahead goal at the 46:53 mark and did not look back.
Back on the pitch was Christina Neal who led the Berg offensively with three shots, but could not find the back of the Franklin net.
The Heidelberg women will travel to Hiram, Ohio as they take on the Terriers of Hiram College on Wednesday, October 2. Kickoff from Hiram is scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
