Tiffin, Ohio – January 29, 2010 – Junior forward Carolyn Gross (Centerville, Ohio / Centerville), a member of Heidelberg University’s women soccer team, has been placed on the 2009 All-Ohio Academic Team.
This marks Gross’s second postseason award. She also received All Ohio Athletic Conference honors.
Gross earned a 3.5 gpa, while majoring in psychology and mental health. On the field, she led the team with 15 points courtesy of seven goals and an assist while starting in every game for the Berg. Four of Gross’s seven goals resulted in a game-winning goal which was tied for second best in the OAC.
Under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Nick Spell, Heidelberg concluded the season at 7-12-1 overall and 4-5 in the OAC, while earning the number sixth spot in the OAC tournament. This marked the first tournament berth since 1999.
