Ada, Ohio – October 21, 2009 – The Heidelberg University women’s soccer team was defeated by Ohio Northern University with a score of 3-0. Heidelberg drops to 5-10-1 overall, 2-4 OAC, while the Polar Bears improve to 12-2, 6-0 in the OAC.
Ohio Northern did all of its scoring in the first half. The Polar Bears’ Angie Pisut was the first to score when she received a through ball from Kaitlin Sanders in the 4th minute, which then Pisut placed the ball in the back of the net for the eventual game-winning goal.
Adding insurance for ONU was Kaitlin Sanders in the 11th minute and Alyssa Merrick in the 43rd.
Heidelberg’s Shyanne Becker (Evansville, Ind. / Harrison) recorded a shot, while Jennifer Pfau (Lewis Center, Ohio / Olentangy) had a shot with a shot on goal.
Lauren Sweeney (Elyria, Ohio / Elyria Catholic) had a team-high six saves for the Berg.
Heidelberg returns to action when they host Muskingum College for Senior Day, Saturday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m
