Heidelberg's Win-Streak Comes to a Halt

Alma, Mich. – September 25, 2010 – The Heidelberg University women’s soccer team had its five-game winning-streak come to a halt as it lost to Alma College 2-0.

The Berg falls to 6-3 overall, while the Scots improve to 6-3.

Alma scored both of its goals in the second half. The Scots’ Jessica Swan scored twice in the 60th and 80th minute of the game.

Offensively for the Berg, freshman Kelsey Hogan (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mariemont) and junior Kristen Schneider (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mount Notre Dame) each recorded two shots on goal.

Also contributing on offense was sophomore Krista Blake (Geneva, Ohio / Geneva) and freshman Brittany Newcomer (Cleveland, Ohio / Holy Name) with a shot on goal each.

Sophomore goal keeper Molly Schriber (Sidney, Ohio / Sidney) earned six stops on the day.

Heidelberg is back in action Tuesday, September 28 when it hosts Defiance College at 7:00 p.m.
