TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s soccer team will return to Tiffin, Ohio on Friday, Sept. 16 for its second night game of the season against The College of Mount St. Joseph at Mayer Field. The match is slated for 7 p.m.
‘Berg comes into the match with a 2-3 overall mark following a 3-1 loss at The College of Wooster last night. In that game, freshman forward Kristen Smith (Lancaster/ Bloom Carroll) prevented Heidelberg from being shut out by scoring her first career goal.
Junior Molly Schriber (Sidney) and sophomore Brittany Labry (Aurora/Twinsburg) will likely split time in goal. Schriber has made 13 saves and allowed just three goals in 180 minutes of action, while Labry has recorded 11 stops and allowed five goals in 157 minutes in the net.
Mount St. Joseph enters tomorrow night’s match with a 1-3-1 record. The Lions are led by Andrea Caldwell and Jenna Shull with one goal apiece. Shelbi Benzinger has started all five games in the goal, and has allowed 10 goals and made 36 saves while tallying 451 minutes.
Following its match against Mount St. Joseph, ‘Berg will host Indiana Tech on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 3:30 in its season debut at Hidden Valley in Tiffin.
