TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s soccer team lost to Otterbein University, 5-0, today in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Mayer Field in Tiffin, Ohio.
The win improves Otterbein to 5-4-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the OAC and extends the Cardinals’ winning streak to three straight contests. Heidelberg falls to 3-7-1 and 0-2-0 in the OAC.
The Cardinals opened up a 1-0 lead just five minutes into the match when Jessica Yaney scored an unassisted goal from 20 yards out. Morgan Hendrickson extended the Otterbein lead to 2-0 in the 42nd minute with a goal of her own. Chelsea DeLay provided the assist.
Otterbein added three more goals in the second half.
Junior midfielder Kelsey Hogan (Cincinnati/Mariemont) sparked the Berg offense with two shots.
Junior goalkeeper Molly Schriber (Sidney) played the first half in the net and made two saves. Sophomore Brittany Labry (Aurora/Twinsburg) relieved Schriber after the break and made four saves.
