Heidelberg Falls to Albion

Heidelberg College’s goalkeeper, Lauren Sweeney (Elyria, Ohio / Elyria Catholic), racked up eight saves on the day. Unfortunately, one shot managed to slip by her in the 77th minute giving Albion College the win, 1-0.

The Tricolor came out fierce, shutting down Albion’s offense through the first half. However, Albion came back and returned the favor in the second, limiting the Berg to only four shots in the second half.

"They are definitely improving," commented head coach Nick Spell, "The team is starting to come together more and it can be seen on the field."

Ivy Thompson (Marietta, Ohio / Marietta) led Heidelberg with three shots on the day, one being on goal. While, Katelyn McBeath (Indianapolis, Ind. / Bishop Chatard), Carolyn Gross (Centerville, Ohio / Centerville), and Heather Jones (Newark, Ohio / Newark) also recorded shots on goal.

The women return to action Saturday Sept. 22 at home against Rio Grande. Play starts at 2:00p.m.
