Women's Soccer Suffers OAC Road Loss

The Heidelberg College women’s soccer team suffered a 2-1 Ohio Athletic Conference setback at Muskingum College today. Heidelberg stands at 4-10-3 overall and 0-6-1 in the OAC, while Muskingum is 7-7-2 overall and 2-4-1 against league foes.
 
Heidelberg and Muskingum played even over the first part of the opening half, until the Muskies’ Karen Wells snuck a ball past keeper Lauren Sweeney (Elyria, Ohio / Elyria Catholic) in the 27th minute. Overall both teams combined for just six first-half shots, with Muskingum holding a 5-1 advantage.
 
Katelyn McBeath (Indianapolis, Ind. / Bishop Chatard) evened the game at a goal apiece in the 70th minute when she scored on a pass from Carolyn Gross (Centerville, Ohio / Centerville). Muskingum responded five minutes later with the eventual game-winning goal by Nicole Langston.
 
For the game Muskingum outshot the Berg 14-10, while Heidelberg had four corner kicks compared to just one by the Muskies. Sweeney picked up seven saves between the pipes,  while Muskingum’s Princess Tarrance finished with four.
