Strike Out Cancer
The Heidelberg University softball team is sponsoring a Strike Out Cancer event to help benefit the American Cancer Society on Sunday, April 19, 2009. The event will take place in conjunction with the Berg’s home game verse Case Western University at Mayer Field beginning at 1:00 p.m. To get involved and help support the fight against cancer one chooses any Heidelberg softball player to cheer on for $25. You can cheer on more than one player at $20 each following the original cost of one. All of the proceeds will be donated to the local American Cancer Society branch.
The Strike Out Cancer event is a special event that recognizes survivors and non-survivors of cancer all around the world. Strike Out Cancer is an event that comes together with the American Cancer Society and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) to help raise funds and awareness to fight cancer. This is an opportunity for the Berg to give back to their Tiffin community and help support all who have been faced and touched by cancer. This day alone is a day where everyone can join together and help fight the battle of cancer, giving hope and support to all who are affected.
During the game, both teams will be wearing special t-shirt jerseys to commemorate the event. These t-shirts will also be sold during the game and all profits will be donated to the American Cancer Society branch. Throughout the event, there will be ample opportunities to donate for the cause. The Heidelberg softball team worked very hard to make this event come alive and they ask friends, family, and community members to come out and help support the Berg while they help Strike Out Cancer.
