Amanda Hanning (Galion, Ohio / Galion) has earned a spot on the 2008 Women’s At-Large Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. The women at-large winners consist of student-athletes from the sports of golf, swimming and diving, and tennis. A total of 39 women from the conference have been named Academic All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Honorable Mention.
A junior on Heidelberg College’s tennis team, Hanning maintains a 3.55 GPA while majoring in communications and sports management. She led the Berg this season, going 5-7 at first singles (3-4 in the OAC) and 6-6 at first doubles (3-4 in the OAC) with partner Morgan Harrigan (Urbana, Ohio / Urbana). The team finished with an overall record of 3-9, 1-6 in the OAC
The academic award winners are selected by the OAC faculty representatives. To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least her second year of participation in the sport.
