Hilton Head, S.C. – March 10, 2010 – The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to Westminster College during its Spring trip to Hilton Head, S.C. The loss evens Heidelberg’s record at 2-2 on the year.
The duo of Kayla Gerber (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) and Darcy Young (Green Springs, Ohio / Clyde) got the Berg on the scoreboard at second doubles, posting an 8-3 victory. It was the second-straight win at second doubles for Gerber and Young.
Gerber returned at second singles and recorded a win in straight sets (7-6 (7-5), 6-4). In her second year, Gerber has won all four of her matches.
Rounding out the scoring for the Berg was the current Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week Emily Naugle (Shelby, Ohio / Shelby). Naugle won in straight sets in the third singles spot (6-4, 7-6 (7-2)).
