University Heights, Ohio – April 28, 2010 – The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team traveled to University Heights, Ohio this afternoon to compete against Ohio Athletic Conference opponent John Carroll University. The Berg was defeated, 9-0.
The loss brings the Berg’s overall record to 4-11 and 2-6 in the OAC, while JCU advances to 7-5 and 5-3.
The Berg was unable to pick up a win off the Blue Streaks, but had a few close matches.
Making it close in the fourth singles set was Darcy Young (Green Springs, Ohio / Clyde) scoring a total of seven points (6-3, 6-4).
In doubles Young and Kayla Gerber (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) lost by only two points (8-6).
The Berg finishes regular season play, Sunday, May 2, as it hosts OAC opponent Capital University. The match is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
