Hilton Head S.C. - March 13, 2011 – The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team, under the guidance of veteran head coach Jerry McDonald, opened up its spring trip with a 7-2 setback to Westminster College. Heidelberg drops to 1-3 on the year, while the Titans open up its season with a win.
After Westminster swept the doubles, senior Jackie Earl (Crestline, Ohio / Crestline) earned Heidelberg’s first win of the day in the third single spot with coming back to win a 4-6, 7-6, 10-4 set.
Freshman Bryana Adkins (Lorain, Ohio / Amherst) finished strong for the Berg with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the final set of the day.
The Berg looks to rebound tomorrow as it faces Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (N.Y.) at 12:30 p.m.
