TIFFIN, Ohio—John Carroll University defeated the Heidelberg University women’s tennis team, 8-1, today at Paramount Tennis Club in Medina, Ohio. The Blue Streaks took singles play by a 5-1 count and swept doubles action.
Senior Jackie Earl (Crestline) defeated Allison Mora, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4 singles for the Berg’s lone win of the afternoon.
Heidelberg falls to 5-10 overall and 3-5 in the OAC, while JCU improves to 12-3 overall and 7-1 in the OAC.
Heidelberg opens the 2012 OAC Women’s Tennis Tournament on Tuesday. The eight-team bracket will be held on campus sites on May 1 before moving to the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason for the semifinals and finals rounds. The bracket will be announced Monday.
