DELAWARE, Ohio - The Heidelberg University women's tennis team fell to Ohio Wesleyan University by a slim 5-4 margin. The teams split the singles matches, but the Battling Bishops took two of the three doubles matches.
Melissa Lovati (St. Clair Shores, MI/Lakeview) and Rachel Brushaber (Harbor Springs, MI) teamed up for an 8-3 win at third doubles. Each picked up a win in singles play, also. Brushaber won 6-1, 6-3 at fifth singles while Lovati emerged with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at sixth.
The other win for the Student Princes was a 6-3, 6-3 win at second singles by Sofey Fugate (Cincinnati/Lakota West).
The Heidelberg ladies will return to the court on Saturday, April 20, when they travel to the University of Mount Union. Action from Alliance, Ohio is scheduled for 1 p.m.
