Women's Tennis Set for Fall Competition

The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team with the guidance of head coach Jerry McDonald will take the court twice this fall. Their first match will be on campus in Tiffin, against the Beavers of Bluffton University followed by a trip to the College of Wooster to battle the Scots.

A season ago, the Heidelberg women went 4-14. They were a youthful squad with little collegiate experience.

However, despite their sub-par record, the Berg’s individual talent did not go overlooked. Even though the 2011-2012 team featured three seniors, it was then sophomore Deidre Potter (Chillicothe) that claimed honorable mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors.

Potter returns for her junior year along with four sophomores and a new addition to the women’s team, freshman Sophie Fugate.

The lone home match on the Berg’s fall schedule against Bluffton will take place on Monday, September 24. The match at Wooster is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2.
