Slow Start in Hilton Head for Heidelberg

Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Heidelberg College fell in their first matches of the season in Hilton Head, S. C. today. The women lost 7-2 to Nazareth, while the men also lost 7-2 to Scranton.
 
The women won its two matches at first and third singles. Mandy Hanning (Galion, Ohio / Galion) was victorious at first singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over her opponent, while Elizabeth Kurtzman (Mansfield, Ohio / Shelby) won third singles 6-1, 4-6, 10-7.
 
For the men, Max Norris (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield) and Jacob Craig (Toledo, Ohio, Sylvania) won first doubles 8-6, and Bradley Cerveny (North Royalton, Ohio / North Royalton) defeated his opponent at fifth singles 2-6, 7-5, 7-4.
 
The women continue in S. C. against Spring Arbor at noon tomorrow, while the men while face off against Concordia at 1 p.m.
