Women's Tennis Earns Fall Victory Over Defiance

The Heidelberg College women’s tennis team extended its fall record to 3-1 with a 7-2 victory over visiting Defiance College today at the Heidelberg Tennis Courts in Tiffin, Ohio.

Heidelberg earned two points in doubles play with an 8-2 victory at second doubles by Liz Kurtzman (Mansfield, Ohio / Shelby) and Emily Naugle (Shelby, Ohio / Shelby). Also victorious in doubles play was the duo of Dawn Neumeyer (Parma, Ohio / Parma) and Ashley Dodrill (Columbus, Ohio / Westerville South), recording an 8-5 win in the third position.

The Berg posted victories at second-sixth singles to seal the 7-2 non-conference win. Morgan Harrigan (Urbana, Ohio / Urbana) won 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3) at second singles followed by Kurtzman’s 1-6, 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. Earning a straight set victory (6-2, 6-0) in the fourth singles spot was Naugle, while Neumeyer won 8-2 at fifth singles and Cassandra Nino (Williard, Ohio / Williard) posted a straight-set 6-4, 6-4 win at sixth singles.
