Womens' Tennis Drops OAC Match
The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Baldwin-Wallace College today,
9-0. The setback drops Heidelberg’s record to 2-1 on the year and 1-1 in the OAC, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 6-9, 3-0 OAC.
Baldwin-Wallace opened the day sweeping all three doubles to hold an early 3-0 advantage.
The host Yellow Jackets swept first through third singles in straight sets. Heidelberg’s Kayla Gerber (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) stopped the sweep and won set one in the fourth spot, 6-1. B-W’s Emily Pelosi responded with a 6-1 win in set two and a 10-2 in set three for the win. Baldwin-Wallace closed out singles action winning in straight sets for the overall win.
Heidelberg returns to action Saturday, April 4 at home against Wilmington College. The match is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
