HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team defeated Olivet (Mich.) College, 5-4, today in Hilton Head, S.C. The Berg went 4-2 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles action.
Senior Jackie Earl (Crestline), freshmen Katie Strahan (West Chester/Lakota East) and Sara Potts (Clyde) and senior Linda Miller (Garfield Heights) each won singles matches, with Potts posting perfect 6-0 sweeps.
The doubles tandem of Potts and freshman Melissa Herrera-Ortiz (Moline, Ill./Moline) took an 8-0 victory against Courtney Kidder and Megan Post.
The Berg returns to the court tomorrow to face Nazareth (N.Y.) College at 8 a.m.
