BEXLEY, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team opened Ohio Athletic Conference play today, sweeping Capital University, 9-0, in Bexley, Ohio. The win halted a three-match losing streak.
Seniors Kayla Gerber (Clyde) and Jackie Earl (Crestline), sophomore Deidre Potter (Chillicothe), and freshmen Katie Strahan (West Chester/Lakota East), Sarah Potts (Clyde) and Melissa Herrera-Ortiz (Moline, Ill./Moline) each won in singles play.
The doubles tandems of Potter/Gerber, Strahan/Earl and Potts/Herrera-Ortiz also won matches.
Heidelberg returns to the courts Tuesday, April 3 for a non-conference match against The College of Wooster at 3:30 p.m.
