Bataille Headed to 100 Finals
Junior sprinter Judy Bataille (Felicity, Ohio / Felicity-Franklin) of the Heidelberg University women's track and field team has qualified for the finals of the 100-meter dash at the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Don Drumm Stadium, on the campus of Marietta College, is the host site for the championship.
Batille won the second of three heats of the trials with a time of 12.17. The winner of each heat, plus the next five fastest times, found a place in the finals. She sits fourth heading into the finals slated for tomorrow, May 23, at 2:40 p.m.
Her time has not only earned her a chance to compete for a national championship, but has already earned her a postion on the All-American podium. Eight participants qualifed for the finals and the top-eight in the field earn All-American accolades. Her All-American honor joins her two from the indoor 55-meter dash. Bataille is the two-time defending indoor 55-meter dash national champion.
