Delaware, Ohio – February 22, 2010 – Freshman Marian Bevington (Celina, Ohio / Parkway) of the Heidelberg University women’s track and field team narrowly missed the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships provisional qualifying list in the pentathlon over the weekend.
Bevington took part in the OWU Pentathlon and finished second in the field of seven participants. Over the course of five events she accumulated 2,973 points to take home her runner-up honors.
Highlighting her day was a first in the long jump with a leap of 16’10”.
She followed the long jump with three second place finishes. Bevington was runner-up in the 55-meter hurdles (8.72), the high jump (5’1.25”) and the shot put (29’11.25”).
Her scoring on the day concluded with a seventh place finish in the 800-meter run (3:00.70).
