Goodman and Bevington Leads Heidelberg at All-Ohio

Delaware, Ohio – April 16, 2011 – The Heidelberg University women’s track and field team was paced by four first-place finishes en route to a sixth place finish at the All-Ohio Championships, held on Saturday at Selby Field and the George Gautheir Track.

The event was hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Heidelberg’s first place finishes led the way to its 65 points.

Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Track Athletic of the Week Alexis Goodman (Tiffin, Ohio / Columbian) paced Heidelberg with two individual championships. Goodman crossed the finish line in 13.02 in the 100-meter dash, followed by clocking in at 26.54 in the 200.

Goodman teamed up for the 4x100-meter relay championship, finishing at 49.53. Joining Goodman was Marian Bevington (Celina, Ohio / Parkway), Samantha Filliater (Fostoria, Ohio / Lakota) and Jazmine Shaw (Columbus, Ohio / Hamilton Township).

Bevington rounded out the first place finishes topping the long jump field with a leap of 17’10¼”. She also earned fourth in 100 hurdles (15.91) and high jump (5’1”). Bevington finished the day with a fifth place mark in triple jump at 34’7½”.

Shaw earned third place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.51.

In the throws, Aaliyah VanLeer (Cleveland Heights, Ohio / Cleveland Heights) earned a top-five performance in shot put for the second week in a row with a toss of 36’5½”.
