2009 Heidelberg Quad
The Heidelberg University volleyball team is slated to host the Heidelberg Quad Friday and Saturday, October 23-24 in Seiberling Gymnasium, on the campus of Heidelberg. The tournament is in conjunction with Heidelberg’s 2009 homecoming festivities.
The quad will consist of six matches that will feature some of the top programs in NCAA Division III. Heidelberg will be joined by Wittenberg University of the North Coast Athletic Conference, Carthage College from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and Webster University who is a member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Conference. All four institutions sit atop their respective school’s conference standings with unblemished records.
On Tuesday, the American Volleyball Coaches Association released its latest national poll and Wittenberg is ranked seventh followed by Carthage in ninth and the Berg in 17th.
Winning streaks will be on the line, as Wittenberg is riding a 14-match winning streak to stand at 19-3, while the Berg has won nine-straight and are 22-4. Carthage boasts an overall record of 22-3 and have won four-consecutive and Webster stands at 14-9, posting victories in its last three outings.
