Volleyball Continues Fall Success In The Classroom
In the fall of 2006 the Heidelberg College volleyball team put together one of its most successful seasons on and off the court. Its on court success carried over into the classroom, earning Heidelberg’s Scholar-Athlete Team Award, made possible by the William E. Landess Fund, after boasting a 3.55 grade point average, which included four perfect 4.0 student-athletes. Not to be outdone, Heidelberg continued to build on the meaning of true student-athletes after rounding out the school year with a 3.7 gpa in the second semester, with eight of the 16 members on the team recording perfect 4.0 gpa’s.
The Berg is built on a solid foundation of educators with five members of the team studying education and finished with a 4.0 grade point average. Leading the way was senior Breena McCool (Tiffin, Ohio / Old Fort) followed by juniors Whitney Magaers (Green Springs, Ohio / Old Fort), Kendra Orwig (Castalia, Ohio / Margaretta) and Tracy Sutter (Miamisburg, Ohio / Miamisburg) and freshman Morgan Magers (Green Springs, Ohio / Old Fort).
Rounding out the list of 4.0 gpa’s was sophomores Kelsey Elliott (Ottawa, Ohio / Ottawa-Glandorf), a public relations major, Rebekah Rowland (Westerville, Ohio / North), a Spanish major, and psychology student Audra Vucic (Lancaster, Ohio / Fisher Catholic).
