Volleyball Remains Unbeaten in the OAC with Sweep of Muskingum

The Heidelberg College volleyball team improved to 3-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a three-game sweep (30-27, 30-24, 30-21) over host Muskingum College. The win extended the Berg’s overall record to 15-2 on the year.

An all-around effort helped guide Heidelberg to the win, which was highlighted by strong play from its defensive specialists. Leading three players with double figure digs was Kendra Orwig (Castalia, Ohio / Margaretta) and Tracy Sutter (Miamisburg, Ohio / Miamisburg) with 14 apiece, followed by Morgan Magers (Green Springs, Ohio / Old Fort) with 11.

Leading the defense at the net was Whitney Magers (Green Springs, Ohio / Old Fort) with two solo blocks and two block assists and Laurie Patrick (Bellevue, Ohio / Bellevue) with one solo block and four block assists.

Morgan Magers picked up a double-double after dishing out 33 assists. On the receiving end of 13 assists was Patrick, while Audra Vucic (Lancaster, Ohio / Fisher Catholic) and Emily Hurlburt (St. Mary’s, Ohio / Memorial) picked up eight kills apiece.

Serving up five aces was Whitney Magers and Hurlburt finished with two service aces.
