Defiance, Ohio – September 15, 2009 – The Heidelberg University volleyball team won its fifth-straight match following a 3-1 (25-14, 25-18, 21-25, 25-19) victory over host Defiance College tonight, Sept. 15. The victory extends Heidelberg’s overall record to 8-2, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 6-4.
Pacing the Berg’s attack game was Amanda Atchison (Frankfort, Ohio / Frankfort Adena). Atchison tied her career-high of 15 kills, in 27 attempts with just errors for a .481 attack percentage. In 10 matches thus far, Atchison had recorded double-digit kills in eight outings, including three matches where she has tied her career high that she set a season ago.

Not to be outdone, Haase added five more points off of service aces. Haase has registered five service aces in three of the last four matches, including two-straight. For the year she leads the way with 28. As a team, Heidelberg had 12 service aces, which marks the fifth time, second-consecutive, that the Berg has finished with at least 12 aces.
