Athletic Training Room General Rules and Regulations

1. Facility is co-ed. Dress appropriately. NO cleats and NO pads. Shirts and shorts should be worn at all times unless interference with treatment procedure occurs.

2. Absolutely no shoes on the treatment tables.

3. All equipment should be left in the hallway.

4. All injuries should be reported promptly to the athletic training staff.

5. Profanity is prohibited and horseplay will not be tolerated.

6. It is the responsibility of the athlete to allot enough preparation time to be treated before practices/games.

7. The use of any form of tobacco is prohibited.

8. Treatment(s) will only be administered during designated treatment hours.

9. Athletes should shower before receiving any treatment.

10. No one is to be in the athletic training room without supervision.

11. Nothing (equipment, supplies, towels, water bottles, records, etc.) is to be taken from the athletic training room without permission.

12. The athletic training room is a place of business, not a lounge. Although people will at time come in to sit and talk, activities that interfere with our purpose and operation will not be tolerated.

13. No one is to administer his/her own treatment. Most of our equipment is hazardous to the unknowing and too expensive to be abused.

14. There is no reason to be messy or sloppy. Place all trash in containers no matter how big the rush.

15. Please empty ice bags when done with them. Do not leave them in the sink or place them back in the ice machine.

16. Personal items such as books, coats, etc. should be left in the locker room. The athletic training staff is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

17. Failure to abide by these rules will result in the loss of the privilege of Heidelberg Athletic Training Services.

18. In-season sports shall receive first priority in regards to practice coverage and pre and post practice treatment and taping. If special coverage is needed for a scrimmage, please let the staff know well in advance so schedules can be adjusted.

In season sports are defined as the traditional season that the sport normally competes in for NCAA tournament or championships
(Ex. Football=Fall, Basketball=Winter, Baseball=Spring)

19. The Heidelberg College Athletic Training Staff also reserves the right to not
cover practices that have been changed to a different time without adequate
notice. Although this not always possible, the ATCs should be notified in the
same manner that the student-athletes are.
