Beeghly Library

Beeghly Library, the intellectual heart of Heidelberg College, is housed in an unusual round three-story library building. Light and airy, with comfortable furnishings and a profusion of green plants, the library provides an inviting spot for students to gather, do research and work on individual and group projects.  Wireless throughout, the library includes a computer lab, classrooms, and a lounge with snack and beverage machines.

The Instructional Media Center is located on the lower level of the library and provides a curriculum collection, audiovisual resources, supplies, and personal assistance.

Search the Beeghly Library Catalog to locate items owned by Heidelberg, or expand your search to include the holdings of the OPAL, Consortium of Ohio Private Academic Libraries, and OhioLINK, the statewide academic consortium of more than 87 academic libraries. Students, faculty and guest patrons can quickly request materials from other member libraries when an item is not owned locally, and delivery typically takes just a few days. In addition, Interlibrary Loan service is available to Heidelberg students, faculty and staff for items that cannot be borrowed directly.

More than 125 Research Databases provide references to articles, information on the libraries owning the source and often the full text of those articles.  Additional databases provide full-text reference sources, collections of literary works, educational videos, news photographs, classical music recordings and many more resources.

Students at the Arrowhead Park Campus in Maumee have full access to the resources of the main campus library.

The library staff enjoys working directly with students, providing research assistance and class presentations. Contact a staff member for Help with research questions, about a circulation issue, interlibrary loan, or to schedule a class presentation.

As part of its mission, Beeghly Library is open to community residents to assist them in their research needs. The reference staff works with area teachers in preparing their high school students for college level work. Area residents can access the Beeghly Library catalog, borrow materials from the library and from OPAL and OhioLINK libraries and use the research databases while on campus.

The Friends of Beeghly Library at Heidelberg College serves as a support group for the library providing assistance with special projects, leading the campus literary club and sponsoring special events, such as the Edible Books Fest, and exam-week snacks in the library.
