Library Catalogs

Heidelberg patrons have access to much more than just the books held in our library. OPAL, a group of Ohio private academic libraries, includes Beeghly Library plus twenty other college libraries. OhioLINK is a huge catalog of more than 40 million books and other titles in the state’s 85 public and private colleges and universities. The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is also open to Heidelberg students.

Beeghly Catalog (OPAL)
Use this to find books, journal and magazine main titles (not articles), videos, music recordings, etc. located in Beeghly Library at Heidelberg. This is a great place to start, but don’t worry if you can’t find the book you need here. With your Heidelberg I.D. you may get books from just about any academic library in the state, see the OhioLINK Catalog listed below.  OPAL also allows you to view your account to see what you have checked out and when the items are due, to renew your items, and to check on the status of titles you ordered from other libraries.

Course Reserves

Many Heidelberg faculty place materials such as sample exams, articles, or books on reserve so that an entire class can access them. Search under your instructor’s name or the course name and number. Photocopies, books, and videos are located at the circulation desk; get the call number from the course reserves entry. Electronic reserves are online and require your I.D. number to access them.
