Accessing online books (e-Books)
Choose from the following options:

From Heidelberg home page, select Beeghly Library from the Quick Links drop down list or go directly to Beeghly Library
- E-books can be located in the Library Catalog (OPAL) or use the Research database which is grouped by title, subject areas, or by type of information offered.
Getting started when Off-Campus
You must have a current Heidelberg ID in order to use the Research Databases.
Use the ID to identify yourself as a Heidelberg student.
Providing your name and the barcode on your campus or Beeghly Library ID. Include the letter at the end of the barcode number, if there is one.
i.e. 5000001234X or 22107001234X .
Contact your program director if you did not receive an ID card.
Read the following suggestions for HELP accessing the databases
1. Select Research Databases from the library homepage. All Research Databases contains a complete list of databases and helps you to identify the most appropriate ones for your needs.
2. Listed by type: includes the collections of electronic books. Choose from:
- Books: use for elecyronic books and dissertations and to see the catalogs of materials held in libraries
- Facts and Stats: use for on-line encyclopedias, dictionaires, and other quick-answer
- Listed by Name: use for alphabetical list of the databases by name
- Listed by Subject: for all databases grouped by broad topic
Heidelberg Favorite collections of E-books listed by name:
♦ Electronic Book Center (OhioLINK): includes thousands of schcolarly and reference e-books covering the humanities, sciences, and social sciences.
♦ Electronic Theses and Dissertations Center (OhioLINK): provides the text of recent online theses and dissertations from Ohio graduate students.
♦ Mental Measurements Yearbook: provides descriptive information and critical reviews of commercially available standardized tests as found in the print Mental Measurements Yearbook.
♦ Tests in Print serves as a bibliography of all known commercially available standardized tests in English that are in print. It provides links to the reviews in the Mental Measurements Yearbooks, from the 9th edition.
♦ NetLibrary: provides current electronic books (e-books) on many academic subjects. Create a free account while on campus so you can use the collection when you are not on campus.
♦ Oxford Scholarship Online provides the complete texts of scholarly books from Oxford University Press.
♦ Safari Books Online provides electronic books in computer science, information technology, business, and related fields.
Most of the electronic books are also included in the Beeghly Library Catalog and are designated with an EBook icon showing a computer with a book. For even more titles go to the entire OhioLINK Catalog of works held in virtually all of the Ohio academic libraries. Unfortunately, because of the distances, you may not borrow the print books through OhioLINK.
WorldCat is the worldwide catalog of books and other materials held by libraries in the U.S. and abroad. It is a good way to identify the existence of new and older library materials.
