New Music Live!

The Heidelberg School of Music will present a program of contemporary music, but recent and classic, on Sunday, April 14th at 3 PM, in the Ohl Concert Hall. Guest artist Stephanie Titus, will present classic contemporary works for solo piano by composers Pierre Boulez and Toru Takemitsu. The balance of the program will feature Heidelberg faculty and students, including Melissa Bosma, oboe, Eric Rutherford, bassoon, and the Heidelberg Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. John E. Owen. John Huenemann, winner of the 2011 Ars Nova award in composition will present a recent work for solo piano.

The School of Music regrets that due to health issues, composer Dean Drummond and this Newband ensemble needed to postpone their New Music Festival performances on April 12-13. We are working with these find musicians to bring them to our campus during the spring of 2014 instead. In the meantime, please join us for a lively program on Sunday
