The following Heidelberg scholarships are available to first-time Freshman enrolling for the 2010-11 Academic Year.
Scholarships for Transfer Students
The Presidential, Dean's, and Academic Scholarships are based on a point system. See chart to calculate points based upon your High School GPA and ACT or SAT scores. Transfer Students may qualify for one of the following Heidelberg Scholarships.
Transfer Academic Award ($4,000)
2.5 GPA for renewal.
Must have attempted at least 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours and earned a 2.8 or higher GPA. Full time enrollment required.
Phi Theta Kappa ($6,000)
2.75 GPA for renewal.
Must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa, have attempted at least 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours and earned a 3.5 or higher GPA. Full time enrollment required. You must provide documentation of membership by presenting you membership card or through designation on your college transcript.
Ohio Transfer Scholarships
Additional scholarship opportunities may be available to Transfer Students through the Ohio Transfer Council (OTC). For more information about these scholarships, please visit the OTC website.
Other Heidelberg Scholarships and Grants available to both first-time Freshman and Transfer Students include the following:
Out-Of-State-Grant ($5,000)
Must be a resident of a state other than Ohio. Renewable for four years.
UCC Grant ($1,000)
Member of the United Church of Christ. Letter of recommendation from minister. Renewable for four years.
UCC Ministerial Grant ($2,000)
Children of ordained UCC ministers and full time missionaries. Based on need. Renewable for four years.
Music Scholarship (Amounts vary)
Renewal based upon a 2.5 GPA.
Must plan to major in music. Audition required by March 1st. Minimum high school GPA of 2.5.
University Grant (Amounts vary, renewal based on SAP)
Must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Heidelberg scholarships and grants are awarded to first-year students and based on seventh semester high school GPA and standardized tests taken in or before February.
Heidelberg gift aid cannot exceed current tuition. Renewal of all sources of financial aid is contingent upon maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). SAP requires students to pass at least 24 hours per academic year and have a 2.0 GPA or higher by the end of their sophomore year.
FEDERAL TITLE IV PROGRAMS
Pell Grant
Need based on FAFSA analysis. Federal government determines eligibility. $976-$5,350 per year.
Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
Need based on FAFSA analysis. Limited to students who are Pell Grant eligible. Awards range from $200-$2,000.
Stafford Loan
Need based on FAFSA analysis. Must be at least half-time. Up to $5,500 for first-year students, with no more than $3,500 being subsidized, $6,500 for second-year students, with no more than $4,500 being subsidized, and $7,500 for third and fourth-year students, with no more than $5,500 being subsidized.
Perkins Loan
Need based on FAFSA analysis. First-year students and sophomores receive priority. Amount borrowed up to $2,000 per year.
Parent Loan For Undergraduate Student (PLUS)
Parent of a dependent undergraduate student. Must have good credit. Up to the cost of education minus financial aid.
University Work Study
Need based on FAFSA analysis. Minimum wage paid monthly.
Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
Need based on FAFSA analysis. Must be Pell eligible, a U.S. citizen and complete a rigorous high school course of study. $750 first year award; Second year students must meet same requirements and have college GPA of 3.0 or better. Second year amount is $1300.

State Grant
Need based on FAFSA analysis. Limited to students who are pell grant eligible.
War Orphan Scholarship
Children of deceased or severely disabled Ohio Veterans who served during period of war or declared conflict.
