About HASA

In addition to their academic work, students will participate in the HASA which is designed to bring highly talented student athletes from the United States and around the world to their optimal playing potential in a professional environment that mirrors a top class European Coaching Academy.  Academy athletes will also have the opportunity to play against other ‘top’ European academy teams located within a two hour drive of the RRFCM facility.

The student athlete’s coaching and playing experience and the academic work and study time will be coordinated to make the most of both experiences.  It should be stated that while the academy offers professional coaching its focus is on the well being of the students’ academic success, given that few students will actually reach top professional status as players.

Coaching time will be scheduled between 9:00 am and 11:30 am; leaving time for course work prior to and after the morning coaching sessions and on alternate days. Course work and study times will take place either in early morning, 7.30am to 9.00am and afternoons 2.00pm to 5.00pm.; with evenings set aside for coaching.  The length of coaching will be no more than 120 minute per session. Sessions will take place Monday through Friday except for game days. Students will have one day off per week, as a minimum, from coaching and/or playing as do student athletes at Heidelberg.
