Why did you choose Heidelberg?
“I found Heidelberg online and liked that they had the US Marshal program. I didn’t have a proper visit like other students, I just came to sign the paperwork. At first I was scared, but I don’t regret my decision. The criminal justice department is excellent. I love it.”
Who is your mentor on campus?
“Professor Newcomb has helped me out a lot. If I’m struggling, I just go and talk to him. He is always helpful and has given me ideas for career opportunities. I’m grateful to have him as my mentor. He really knows me and that’s a good relationship to have.”
What has been your favorite Berg experience?
“It’s been the friendships I’ve developed. As an out-of-state student, it’s been great to meet people from other places. My friends and I have developed traditions that really brought us together.”
How has your involvement with Student Senate shaped your education?
“I’m compassionate toward other people and I’ve always wanted to help people and solve problems. I’ve made connections with people on campus and in the community. How I can find ways to help people and make life easier/better.”
What is your advice to underclassmen?
“Join organizations and try out different aspects of college. Being involved helps you create relationships with other students and your professors. It’s a great opportunity. Everyone at Heidelberg is supportive of being involved.”
What are your post-graduation plans?
"I’m open for whatever comes my way. Right now I’m looking at non-profit organizations. My ultimate goal is to work in the awareness and prevention of human trafficking.”
