Aug 5, 2011

TIFFIN (Ohio) – In the 30 years since his student days at Heidelberg University, Brian Regan has made quite a name for himself in the world of stand-up comedy, performing at some of the country’s top venues and making appearances on mainstream comedy programs and networks.

Heidelberg’s Office of Institutional Advancement and University Relations is pleased to announce that Regan will perform at The Ritz Theatre in downtown Tiffin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Proceeds from his performance will benefit the university’s scholarship program.

Regan, who is originally from Miami, was recruited to Heidelberg to play football. When his playing days ended, he turned to comedy. Today, he is widely considered one of the premier comedians in the country, selling out theatres nationwide. With his observational, clean style, he is the rare breed of comic whose material appeals to all.

Regan has released two critically acclaimed Comedy Central specials and DVDs – “The Epitome of Hyperbole” in 2008 and “Standing Up” in 2007. In addition to his 80-city annual tour, he has appeared more than 20 times on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and also is a regular guest of Conan O’Brien. His latest album, “All By Myself,” is available for download at

A dorm room favorite, Regan’s 1977 CD, “Brian Regan Live,” has sold over 150,000 copies and consistently charts in iTunes Top Ten Comedy Albums. His top viewer choice and the independently released DVD, “I Walked on the Moon,” is available at
