Playing in the mud

Over Labor Day Weekend, the Student Affairs staff hosted a mud volleyball tournament for students who opted to stay on campus for the weekend. The event proved to be an unexpectedly big success, with nearly 150 spectators and players.

Teams headed to Hidden Valley on two courts that had been prepared by Krammes Service Center and student volunteers, who spent the previous week removing rocks and other sharp objects. A double-elimination event, the tournament attracted nine teams of 8-10 players each.

Team “Overslept” – so named because they entered the tournament late, calling to say they were on their way but left no team name – claimed the title, after having to win their way through the loser’s bracket because of their late arrival.
