Entrepreneur extraordinaire
Heidelberg alumnus Jerry Ross, ’80, returned to his alma mater Wednesday to talk with students and local business leaders about his success in marketing and economic development. Currently the executive director of the Disney Entrepreneur Center in Orlando, Fla., Jerry is known for his expertise in helping to create and expand small businesses.
His success and experience is rooted in the idea that he has walked in the shoes of those he now seeks to help. Early in his career, he turned a floundering lighting company into one of the largest and most profitable entertainment lighting businesses in the country with such clients as Disney World, NASA, the NFL, the NBA and the Olympics.
Jerry’s Heidelberg visit included two guest lectures in marketing classes and a keynote address as part of the Business Leaders Luncheon, sponsored by Heidelberg and the Tiffin Rotary Club. He also met with members of the senior class and with other college administrators.
