These are special blue lights
In an effort to enhance safety and security on campus, installation of a series of emergency blue light phones has been completed and the phones are now operable, according to Julie George, director of Safety and Security.
Installation at five locations began April 16. When in use, the blue strobe light on the top of the phones will be activated. The phones have been placed at the following locations:
- on the southeast corner of Krammes Service Center, near the Brown Hall parking lot
- on the northwest corner of College Hall (Market Street side)
- in front of the Campus Center, near the first sidewalk beyond the plaza
- in the Gillmor Hall parking lot, near the Rebecca Street bridge
- near the pedestrian bridge at King Hall.
Basic instructions for usage are posted at each phone. The red button is for 9-1-1 emergency use only, and the Tiffin Police Department will respond. For a non-emergency situation, you may push the black button for a dial tone and call Tiffin police at 419-447-2323 or Campus Security at x2211. The black button allows you to make any campus or local telephone call.
