Findlay, Ohio – December 4, 2010 – The Heidelberg University men’s and women indoor track and field team, under the guidance of first-year head coach Briana Shook, opened the winter at the unscored Oiler Open hosted by NCAA Division II foe the University of Findlay.
Leading the sprinters for the men was Josh Bowmar (Marengo, Ohio /Highland) and Seth Robertson (Burton, Ohio / Newbury). The duo finished fifth (50.27) and sixth (51.07), respectively in the 400-meter dash.
Bowmar and Robertson also teamed up with Tyler Harris (Berea, Ohio / Berea) and Joe Yoder (West Liberty, Ohio / West Liberty Salem) to take home fourth place in the 4x400-meter relay. They teamed up to cross the finish line in 3:26.55.
Yoder went on to race to eighth place in the 600-meter run. He clocked a time of 1:27.8.
Leading the distance crew was Maxwell Danko (Doylestown, Ohio / Chippewa). Danko ran the 3,000-meter run in 10:11.46, which stood sixth in the final standings.
On the women’s side, Jessica Jones (Wauseon, Ohio / Wauseon) led the way with a ninth place finish in the 600-meter run. Jones clocked a time of 1:47.22.
In the 4x400-meter run the quartet of Lilly Hansberger (Norwalk, Ohio / Western Reserve), Kristin Burns (Milford Center, Ohio / Fairbanks), Jones and Natalie Ahlers (St. Mary’s, Ohio / Memorial) clocked a time of 4:27.64 to finish as the top Division III team.
