Volleyball remains perfect in OAC

The Heidelberg College volleyball team improved to 4-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference today with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-17, 22-25, 25-19) victory over Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. The win was the 11th-consecutive for the Berg who improves to 19-3 overall. Muskingum falls to 16-3 overall and 0-1 in league action.
 
The win continues to give Heidelberg a share of the league lead with Ohio Northern University. Both teams are undefeated in the OAC and will face each other on Tuesday, Oct. 7 in Ada, Ohio for the honor of having sole possession of first place in the conference.
 
Leading the way for the Berg was junior setter Morgan Magers (Green Springs, Ohio / Old Fort) finishing with a double-double. She set up the offense for 28 kills, while leading the defense with 21 digs. Joining Magers in double figures in digs was Jackie Reinhart (New Riegel, Ohio / New Riegel) with 20 digs followed by Suzy Street (Grafton, Ohio / Midview) (18), Brittany Donelan (North Olmsted, Ohio / North Olmsted) (17) and Kelsey Elliott (Ottawa, Ohio / Ottawa-Glandorf) (15). Also making a presence on defense was Amanda Atchison (Frankfort, Ohio / Frankfort Adena) with five blocks.
 
Offensively Emily Hurlburt (St. Mary’s, Ohio / Memorial) led the way with 15 kills, while Audra Vucic (Lancaster, Ohio / Fisher Catholic) picked up 13 kills in 29 attempts with just one error for a .414 attack percentage.
