Student researchers put minds to work
Heidelberg’s 16th annual Minds at Work Student Research Conference will take place this year on Feb. 19. A scholarly event, the conference opens its doors to Heidelberg students, as well as to students from other regional colleges and universities to present research projects on a wide variety of subjects

This year’s keynote address at noon will be delivered by Dr. Christopher Marsh of Baylor University in Texas. Marsh is the director of the J.M. Dawson Institute of Church-State Studies, as well as director of the Keston Center for Religion, Politics and Society at Baylor. He also teaches in the areas of religion, politics and society, with a geographical focus on Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union and East Asia. His research and teaching interests range from religion and violence to church-state relations and religious freedom in communist and post-communist societies.
Marsh also serves as the editor of the Journal of Church & State and co-editor of Demokratizatsiya: The Journal of Post-Soviet Democratization.
The research conference will begin at 9 a.m. and will run through 5:30 p.m. All sessions are open to the public. A schedule of the student presentations is available to download.
