Speech Team's Keenan Jones goes 4 for 4

Heidelberg's Speech Team continues to make its mark, most recently on a national stage that proved to be the pinnacle in the forensics career of senior Keenan Jones.

 

Jones, who is president of Heidelberg’s Student Senate, and freshmen Tom Kelly and Candice Brothers represented Heidelberg at the Pi Kappa Delta National Forensics Honorary, 48th Bienneniel National Convention and Tournament in Shreveport, La., from March 18-21. Some 65 colleges and universities from around the country participated and entered more than 1,500 events.

 

Keenan brought home multiple honors, earning trophies in every event in which he participated. He earned a superior rating in Broadcast Journalism and excellent ratings in Impromptu Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking and Prose Interpretation.

 

“Keenan’s success at this national tournament is a wonderful achievement following several years of forensics success,” said forensics coach Dan Higgins. “His rankings clearly place him in the top 10 percent of collegiate speakers in the nation."
