Spring Study of techniques of literary analysis applied to the major genres: fiction, poetry and drama; and practice in writing the critical paper. Required of all majors. Authors span the centuries and the globe – from Sophocles and Ibsen to Hansberry, Henley and Hwang; from Poe to Walker, Silko and Tan; from Shakespeare to Yeats, Rich, Momaday and Dove. Receiving Advanced Placement credit for ENG 102 does not include credit for or exemption from ENG 101. Prerequisite: ENG 101.
