The 1850 Society was created in 2013. It is one of two components of the Heidelberg Builders & Benefactors comprehensive giving society. Membership in The 1850 Society is reserved for select donors whose cumulative lifetime giving in cash funds has surpassed $1 million. A total of 17 individuals and foundations were inducted into The 1850 Society in 2013. Within The 1850 Society, donors are recognized at four levels: Founders Circle ($1 million-$2,499,999); Student Prince Circle ($2.5 million-$4,999,999); Vision Circle ($5 million-$9,999,999); and Transformation Circle ($10 million and above). Heidelberg University gratefully acknowledges the collective contributions of these benefactors who sustain us in profound and transformative ways.

Heidelberg University established The University Society in 2015 as the second component of the Heidelberg Builders & Benefactors comprehensive giving society. Donors whose cumulative lifetime giving places them in the $100,000-$999,999 range of cash gifts are recognized within The University Society at three levels: Colleagues ($100,000-$249,999); Collaborators ($250,000-$499,999); and Creators ($500,000-$999,999). Heidelberg appreciates these leadership benefactors who play an integral role in helping the University advance its mission and inspire others to make a similar commitment in lifetime giving.

Fellows will be recognized in the following giving levels:

Fellows $250 - $499
Edson J. Brown $500 - $999
Emanuel V. Gerhart $1,000 - $2,499
Charles E. Miller $2,500 - $4,999
Henry Leonard $5,000 - $9,999
George W. Williard $10,000 - $24,999
W. Terry Wickham $25,000 and above
