Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement / Campaign Director
Heidelberg University, located in Tiffin, OH, invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement/Campaign Director.
Heidelberg University seeks a senior level development officer with proven success in comprehensive campaigns, stewardship and donor relations, and prospect development. Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement & University Relations and working closely with the President, s/he will provide overall leadership and management of the $50 million Academic Comprehensive Campaign for Excellence (ACCE) designed to enhance academic excellence and student success. This position is revenue producing with a focus on major gift support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and planned giving. As a member of the Vice President’s senior management team, this position will also be a significant contributor to the planning, organization, and strategic implementation of other key initiatives to secure ongoing financial resources for the university, including leadership toward the development of future campaigns.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree, however, is preferred. A proven record of at least 7-10 years of experience is desired, preferably in a higher education setting with demonstrated leadership in comprehensive campaign planning and execution. Successful fundraising interactions with major gift donors ($25,000+) will be expected. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential. Fundraising certifications desirable.

Institutional and Market Research Analyst
Heidelberg is seeking to hire an Institutional and Market Research Analyst to lead the development and implementation of effective institutional and market research practices in support of the university’s strategic action plan. The analyst will be the central point of contact for institutional data analysis and reporting, and will design scanning and reporting methods to accurately collect, analyze, and publish information about Heidelberg to both internal and external constituencies. Responsibilities will include:
- Encourage a culture of evidence throughout the University.
- Provide support and analysis for institutional planning, budgeting, program review, accreditation, enrollment, and assessment processes.
- Regularly publish findings through written and graphical reports and presentations.
- Coordinate administration and completion of the Common Data Set, IPEDS, and similar information required by governmental, accrediting, and other agencies.
- Conduct market research in support of Enrollment Management strategies.
- Serve on committees and task forces and act as a resource for data and analyses that facilitate university programs and services.
- Participate in professional organizations at all levels for professional development and networking.

This is a new position, and will report to the Associate Vice-President for Information Resources.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish efficient and effective IR processes, and to collaborate and cooperate with all key constituencies. She/he must be an effective communicator in both written and verbal form, work well under deadline pressure, balance multiple priority tasks, and perform well in both cooperative and independent situations, as the situation requires. Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills, and familiarity with appropriate statistical software packages will be essential. She/he will be skillful in collecting, verifying, analyzing, and reporting institutional data, and will demonstrate the ability to think creatively while working with limited resources. An advanced degree is desirable, as is familiarity with Sungard/Ellucian Banner. Preference will be given to candidates with professional IR experience in a college or university setting.

Director of Wellness & Health Living
Heidelberg University is seeking an experienced Director of Wellness & Healthy Living that is responsible for the organization, management, administration, maintenance and supervision of all aspects of Heidelberg University’s Health and Wellness programming, including management of the Saurwein Health and Wellness Center. This position will report to the Dean of Student Affairs.
The Director will be responsible for developing and coordinating programs to improve the health and well-being of the Heidelberg University community; will be responsible for supervising and managing the daily operations of the Saurwein Health & Wellness Center; for organizing and planning University-wide seminars on wellness-related topics throughout the year; for organizing and executing programming in conjunction with the Tiffin YMCA, the University health center, counseling services, athletics and academic departments; and for supervising intramural and club sports. Some evening and weekend availability will be necessary.
Successful candidates for this position must have a bachelor’s degree in health or exercise sciences related field with knowledge in business administration and previous experience working in the health and wellness profession in an administrative and/or clinical role. The successful candidate for this position must hold CPR, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens and First Aid Certifications and have a health-related certification from the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Association) or a comparable organization. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in a related field, previous teaching or guest lecturing experience and experience managing a wellness facility.

Assistant Director of Annual Giving
Heidelberg University is seeking an Assistant Director of Annual Giving. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement.
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving (ADAG) is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase funding to the University’s annual fund. The person in this position will help lead the annual fund efforts by directing the Phonathon’s strategic activities, a major function of the annual fund solicitation plan. The Assistant Director will communicate with and educate on-campus giving groups, faculty, staff and students to impart the traditions and philanthropic needs of the University. Reporting on the annual fund numbers and donor information will be a part of the daily activities of this position. The position requires reporting and benchmarking capabilities including analysis of giving information and research into peer institutions to examine and track the success of our plan. The position will continually monitor and update the giving portion of the website and push the use of social media, online giving, and solicitations. The position will assist in developing the overall annual giving plan and the calendar of activity. The person in this position will also create a parents fund campaign and a student philanthropy initiative on campus that will culminate in gifts from all classes, the largest being the senior class legacy gift. Evening and weekend work will be required during the Phonathon and other Institutional Advancement and University Relations sponsored events.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must demonstrate analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Strong organizational and communication (written and oral) skills as well as the ability to work independently and with colleagues in a collaborative and supportive fashion are required. The Assistant Director of Annual Giving must possess enthusiasm, an excellent work ethic, the capability to relate to diverse cross-sections of individuals, and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously. Experience using an integrated data base system, preferably SCT Banner, is required. A bachelor’s degree and two to four years experience in a college or university development operation is required.

Adjunct Professor of Management
The Heidelberg University School of Business invites applications for an Adjunct Professor in Management to teach an MBA course in Competition & Strategy. Graduate Assistant – Athletic Training
Position
One Athletic Training Graduate Assistantship is available within Heidelberg University’s Department of Athletic Training. This position is a 10 (ten) month appointment beginning August 2012 and is renewable for two years from August 2012 through May 2014.
Qualifications
- Acceptance into a Graduate Studies Program at Heidelberg University
- Successful completion of BOC Certification Examination or Eligibility (prior to June 2011)
- Eligible to obtain a license to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Ohio (prior to start date)
- Athletic Training clinical experience with a variety of sports including Football and Baseball.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and Athletic Training skills.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Chair of Athletic Training with supervision by the Head Athletic Trainer.
- Assist in evaluating injuries, administering treatments, and implementing rehabilitation programs to a variety of varsity intercollegiate athletes, focusing on Football and Baseball (including travel) with other coverage as assigned.
- Assist with teaching basic skills to ATEP students within curriculum.
- Assist with clinical supervision, mentoring and evaluation of Athletic Training Students.
- Other duties as assigned by Chair of Athletic Training.
