This course is designed to teach athletic training students to respond to various emergency medical situations. It includes professional training in first aid techniques, splinting, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillation (AED), and methods to prevent disease transmission for allied health care professionals.  This course explores various methods used to manage acute injuries and illnesses common to the physically active population including incorporating hands-on training in the implementation of emergency care techniques.  Prerequisite: Athletic Training candidates and majors only.
